AquaBuckets in a nutshell: It is a modular recirculating hydroponic design consisting of a nutrient "Heart" and a series of 6 planters. You lay out the system as you would potted plants....from a small balcony to an entire garden area. This system is gravity fed. Simply add Water and Nutrient to the "Heart". Transplant your seedlings or clones and let it grow for you. You will add and adjust your nutrient every 1-5 days.  Need to go out of town with no one to water your plants for you? AquaBuckets can be retro fitted with a 55 gallon reservoir for automated watering up to 2 weeks. AquaBuckets can be modified to add or remove plant sites up to 24 cells. Keep in mind that Deep Water Culture may require a Water Chiller to maintain adequate root zone temperatures. Water Chillers easily attach to existing AquaBucket systems. AquaBuckets is a Deep Water Culture Kit and is intended to be modified and perfected by you, the hobby grower.

AquaBuckets is a  recirculating direct water culture systems (also known as RDWC) use a reservoir to provide water for multiple buckets.
Outdated methods using unconnected buckets require individual testing for PH  and PPM. This has led to innovations that combine use of air stones and connecting multiple buckets together and recirculating the water (AquaBuckets).  Constant recirculating oxygenates the water and ensures a good mix of nutrients CF and stabilizes PH throughout the entire system so testing is required only at one point, which would be at the 'HEART'.

Compare AquaBuckets vs. "Current Culture"
Direct Water Chill Capable (Maintains consistant water temperatures in each cell, not possible with "Current Culture")
Less growing medium to clean or throw away ("AquaBuckets" 6" net pot vs. "Current Culture" 8" net pot)
Less Flashing (Toxic Salt Build Up) Smaller net pots equals less flashing. Remember DWC is all about the water, not the growing medium.
Tethered Cell Technology (non fixed plant sites)
Less expensive
Lower shipping cost
Free Technical Support with purchase

Versatile grow configuration allows for plant sites to be moved around up to two feet in any direction, even in the middle of a grow cycle.  Save energy by using a 400 watt while plants are small, and then switch to 600 or 1000 watts during flowering.

6 site system fits in as little as 3' x 4', 4' x 4' (600 watt), and as large as 5' x 5' (1000 watt) grow spaces.

200 mesh filter attaches inside the "Heart" to keep drip lines free and clear of all sludge and debris. Use Organic plant food without the fear of clogged lines.

Afraid of Hydroponics? Think it will be too technical for you? This will be the easiest gardening you've ever done. The whole idea behind AquaBuckets is to make high-performance, hydroponic gardening simple and available for anyone. Our automated systems do the job for you day in and day out, 365 days-a-year: no watering, no weeding, no worrying about what will happen if you go on a two-week vacation. Keep your water temp, PH, and PPM in the appropriate range and this system will preform

  1. So far so good. 4 Star Review

Posted by on 24th Apr 2016

Only had a couple weeks but I think I'll really like. Plants took awhile but now they really taking off. Only complaint is the lid they gave me for the main holding tank does not fit. To big. Maybe just a passing mistake

  2. AquaBuckets Rule! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 27th Jan 2016

I've been growing the old school way for 30 years and I was tired of lifting 80# bags of soilless mix and dealing with getting rid of the used mix so I decided to try hydroponics . After lots and lots of research I decided AquaBuckets were the best value of all the RDWC Hydroponic systems on the market today. I ordered the 6 site system with control bucket as well as a 6 site CloneBucket to root my cuttings in. I have never used a "cloning machine " before ( rock wool cubes & cloning gel is what I've used for 30 years) and the CloneBucket far exceeded my expectations! I had roots in 4 days and moved all 6 into the AquaBucket system on the 10th day. In all of my years growing I have never seen so many roots in so little time.. All that and it's easier to use than the rock wool cubes. You just take your cutting, put it in the CloneBucket and leave it alone for 4-5 days. By then you'll have roots- a-plenty and when they're all looking good into the AquaBuckets they go. The AquaBucket system is a high quality product at a very low price. I was amazed at how well it's made and how easy it was to put together.. I'm getting ready to purchase another CloneBucket and a 12 site AquaBucket system. I have a 1/2 hp chiller that I'm going to use for the 12 site AquaBucket system . I'm just going to use 1 control bucket for all 12 plant sites. AquaBuckets RULE!!!

  3. Good System 4 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Jul 2011

This system works great. Love the option of being able to move the plants around in the middle of the cycle.

Minus 1 star because of the lack of Growing Instructions. Not really an issue anymore, because i found plenty of info on the internet on how to use DWC systems.

  4. Fu....k....n...Huge 5 Star Review

Great Kit. I like the fact that you can still move the plants around durring the cycle. Each cell is NOT restricted, and can be moved in any direction up to 2'.

Makes it easy to save on electricity by using one light while the plants are small and later upping the wattage, and spacing the plants out when thy get big.

  5. easy system 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Apr 2011

I bought an Aquabuckets DWC kit 12 site. After my first harvest i realized that 6 plants would have filled my 4x8 foot space just as well as 12 plants would. The nice thing about this system is you can add or remove plant cells with Aquabuckets during setup.
Be prepared for the biggest plants you have ever seen. A friend of mine uses 1000 watt per plant per 5x5 foot area. 6 plants, 6 1000 watts, in 10x15 foot area.

  6. BIG 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Apr 2011

I cant believe how big my plants got. 11' tomato plants in my back yard produced hundreds or vine ripe fruit. If you want to grow the biggest plants, get this system.

  7. Unbelevable production and growth 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Jan 2011

I bought one of these last year and I have to say I have never seen faster vegetative growth of any Organic or Hydroponic garden. 6 site AquaBuckets system produced over 800lbs of Heirloom tomatoes.

    Thoughts on chillers:
It is absolutely necessary to use a water chiller in the summer months. Exceeding 72F for extended hours of the day will result in root rot.
